Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.
Almost every route for getting rid of something in Los Angeles runs on a clock you cannot move. Here is what each one actually is, so you know by lunchtime whether today is realistic.

In Los Angeles, private junk removal crews are the only route that is genuinely same-day. City bulky pickup is next collection day at the earliest, charity collection runs one to three weeks out, and a dumpster needs delivery plus a street permit. Same-day works best when booked before mid-afternoon.
The honest ranking is short. If you need something gone today, a hauling crew is the only route that can do it, and even then the deciding factors are the time you call, where the item is, and whether anything in the load is legally restricted. Everything else — the free city pickup, a charity collection, a rented dumpster — is tomorrow at the very best and usually next week.
We run Monday to Saturday around the clock and Sunday afternoons and evenings, so the limiting factor is almost never the hour. It is the route. A crew already working in Van Nuys can be in Sherman Oaks in twenty minutes and cannot be in San Pedro by four.
People searching for junk removal today are almost always inside a deadline somebody else set: an escrow walkthrough, a lease that ends tomorrow, a building inspection, a relative flying home on Sunday, a tenant who left a room full of furniture behind. That is a scheduling problem, not a hauling problem, and the answer depends entirely on which routes are still open at the hour you are reading this.
So this page is a timetable rather than a sales pitch. Every city figure below is from that city's own published page.
Read this table before you make a decision. The one thing nearly everyone gets wrong is assuming the free city pickup is quick. It is free, and in the City of Los Angeles it is unlimited, but it is not fast — it lands on your next regular trash day and never sooner.
| Private hauling crew | Same day, most days, where the route allows. The practical cut-off is mid-afternoon for a full load and later for one or two items. |
|---|---|
| LA City bulky pickup | Your next regular trash day, requested at least one business day earlier. Free and unlimited, curbside only. |
| LA City drop-off event | One Saturday a month, 8:00am to 4:30pm, five yards. Free, no appointment, but you drive it in yourself. |
| Inglewood | Next day, if requested by noon the day before. |
| Beverly Hills | 24 to 72 business hours. |
| Glendale | Booked 3 business days ahead. |
| Burbank | 1 business day by phone, 2 through Our Burbank 311. |
| El Segundo | 2 days' notice. |
| Manhattan Beach | 48 hours' notice. |
| Santa Monica | Collected within 7 to 10 days. |
| Pasadena and Culver City | Roughly two weeks out. |
| Charity collection | Route-based, typically one to three weeks, and only for items in resale condition. |
| Dumpster rental | Delivery is next business day at best, and a dumpster left on a public street in Los Angeles needs a permit before it lands. |

It is rarely the hour on the clock. Five things decide it, and four of them are things you can tell us in thirty seconds on the phone.
Where the crew already is. Los Angeles County is 4,000 square miles and the 405 does not care about your deadline. A job on the Westside at 2pm and a job in Long Beach at 4pm are not the same request.
Where the items are. Curbside or garage is fast. Third floor with no elevator, a narrow side gate, a hillside staircase in Silver Lake or a tight alley in Koreatown all add crew time, and crew time is what has to exist in the day for a same-day slot to open.
What is in the load. Household goods and furniture are straightforward. Anything hazardous is not ours to take at all. Mixed construction and demolition debris in the City of Los Angeles must be hauled by a permitted hauler to a City-certified processing facility, which changes where the truck can go after it leaves you.
Whether the building lets us in. Commercial buildings, HOAs and most large apartment complexes require a certificate of insurance on file and a booked freight elevator. That is a same-day killer more often than traffic is, and it is worth checking with your manager before you call anyone.
The disposal facility's own clock. Transfer stations and landfills close their scales in the afternoon. A load picked up at 5pm may be collected today and weighed tomorrow, which is fine for you and worth knowing.
Rather not deal with any of it? Tell us what is there and we will price it.
Free upfront quote, no obligation. If your city will haul it free instead, we will tell you that first.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. Side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where most of the work actually happens.
Five steps, in order. Most people skip the first and lose an hour.
If the item is already at the curb, your city is the City of Los Angeles and your trash day is tomorrow, book the free pickup and stop reading. It costs nothing and it is one call to 1-800-773-2489.
One wide shot per room or per pile. A photo prices a job in a minute where a description takes ten and is usually wrong in both directions.
Ground floor or third floor. Elevator or stairs. Driveway, alley, side gate, street parking only. That sentence is what decides whether a same-day slot fits.
Paint, solvents, motor oil, pool chemicals, pesticides, car batteries, propane cylinders and fluorescent tubes cannot legally ride on a general hauler's truck. Set them aside; they go free to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center.
A same-day job is a conversation with whoever is holding the schedule. (323) 230-0777 is answered Monday to Saturday around the clock and Sunday from 1pm to 10pm, and you can text photos to the same number.
Some jobs are not same-day for anyone, and a company that promises otherwise is either about to reschedule you or about to do something it should not.
Hazardous waste. Not today, not tomorrow, not by us. It goes to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center, free, at weekends. That is the whole route.
A permitted dumpster on a public street. Placement on the street or in a metered space requires a permit from the city, and that is not a same-day process.
A charity collection. Donation pickups are route-based and run weeks out. If you want items donated and you need the room empty today, the realistic version is a crew that sorts and delivers the usable items to a donation site afterwards.
A demolition. Taking out a hot tub, a shed, built-in cabinetry or a deck is construction work with a disposal tail. It can often start today. It does not usually finish today.
An estate with paperwork in it. A full property cleanout after a death should not be rushed into a single afternoon. Documents, photos, jewelry and deeds turn up in drawers on day two.

We cover the whole county and we will say no rather than take a booking we cannot keep. In practice the Westside, Central LA, the San Fernando Valley and the San Gabriel Valley are the easiest to fit late in the day because that is where most of our routes run. The South Bay, the Harbor and the far east of the county are usually same-day if you call in the morning.
The full list of neighborhoods, each with its own local pickup rules, is on areas we serve, and same-day junk removal covers how the service itself works. Pricing is by the volume the load takes in the truck and is agreed flat before anything is lifted: how our pricing works.
Every rule, fee, limit and deadline on this page is from the body that sets it. Checked on the date above; if a city changes its program we change the page.
Same crew, one visit, one number agreed before anything is lifted.
Booked and cleared the same day, most days, across LA County.
Couches, sectionals, mattresses in the same trip, beds, desks and wardrobes carried down rather than dragged.
The whole garage in one visit. We sort, donate what is usable and sweep the slab.
COIs, after-hours dock slots and property-manager invoicing.

Thirteen Los Angeles-area programs in one table: how many free pickups a year, how many items, who to call and what each one refuses.
A dumpster on an LA street needs a permit and a hauler permit behind it. Which one is right depends on four things, not on price alone.
Seven checks that take ten minutes, and why the fine for illegally dumped junk follows the property it came from.
The follow-up questions people ask after this one.
Private junk removal crews are the only same-day route in LA. City bulky pickup lands on your next regular trash day, charity collections run one to three weeks out, and a dumpster needs delivery and, on a public street, a permit. We run Monday to Saturday around the clock and Sunday from 1pm to 10pm.
There is no single cut-off, but the practical one for a full load is mid-afternoon, because the crew needs loading time and the disposal facility needs to be open when the truck arrives. One or two items can often go much later, since a small load can ride until the next morning's tip.
No. In the City of Los Angeles the service is free and unlimited, but it runs on your regular trash day and must be requested at least one business day beforehand. The fastest city option anywhere nearby is Inglewood, which collects the next day if you request it by noon.
Not with us. Pricing is by the volume the load takes in the truck and the access involved, and it is agreed flat before anything is lifted. A same-day booking is a scheduling question rather than a surcharge, which is why we would rather say no to a slot than take it and move you.
Usually yes, if the building allows access. The limiting factor in large LA buildings is almost never the volume; it is the certificate of insurance the management wants on file and the freight elevator booking. Ask your manager for both before you call.
Household hazardous waste, in any quantity: paint, solvents, fuel, motor oil, pool chemicals, pesticides, car batteries, propane cylinders, fluorescent tubes, asbestos and medical sharps. No general hauler may legally transport those. City and County residents drop them free at a S.A.F.E. Collection Center.
