Everything we haul,
and everything we won't.

Twelve services across greater Los Angeles. Flat-rate quotes given before we start, a donate-first disposal order, and an honest answer when the city will do it free.

Where it goes
Diagram of where a Los Angeles junk load goes: reuse first, then recycling, then special handling for electronics and hazardous waste, with landfill last
The order a load is sorted in, and the rules that set it. Landfill is the last stop, not the first.

The sources for every rule on that diagram are cited further down this page and on the individual service pages.

In short We remove almost anything two people can lift, anywhere in greater Los Angeles, usually the same day. Twelve services, one crew, one flat price quoted before we touch a thing.

Junk removal companies tend to describe themselves in verbs — we haul, we remove, we clear. That is not very useful when you are standing in a garage trying to work out who to call. So here is the whole list, plainly, with what each job actually involves in Los Angeles specifically, and an honest note on where the free city services do the job better than we would.

Every service below is quoted flat-rate before we start, covered by general liability insurance, and run on a donate-first, recycle-second, landfill-last disposal order. If you already know roughly what you have, call (323) 230-0777 and we can usually price it on that one call.

Being straight with you

What we can't take

Not a policy choice. A general hauler transporting these is breaking California law, and any company that offers to is telling you something about how they operate.

Household hazardous waste: paint, stains, solvents and thinners, motor oil and automotive fluids, fuel, pool chemicals, pesticides, aerosols, automotive batteries, propane cylinders, fluorescent tubes and mercury items, sharps and medicines.

Also no: asbestos or anything suspected of containing it, medical waste, explosives, or radioactive material.

All of the hazardous items above are taken free, from City of Los Angeles and LA County residents, at any of the seven permanent S.A.F.E. Collection Centers. S.A.F.E. stands for Solvents, Automotive, Flammables, Electronics. They are open Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 3pm, with the exception of the LA-Glendale site, which is Saturday only and requires a state photo ID at the gate because it sits inside a water reclamation plant.

The one limit worth knowing before you load the car: 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. That is a California state transportation limit rather than a city rule, so no center can wave it for you. If you have more than that, split it across two trips.

Frequently asked

The questions we get before someone books. If yours is not here, call or text.

What does a junk removal company actually do that I can't do myself?

Three things: the elevatoring, the truck, and the disposal decision. The lifting matters more than people expect — a sleeper sofa is roughly 200 pounds of steel frame and it does not bend. The truck matters because a full garage is four or five pickup loads and most transfer stations have a one-ton minimum. The disposal decision matters most: roughly half of a normal household load should not go to landfill at all, and knowing which half is the actual skill.

What can you not take?

Hazardous waste. That means paint, stains, solvents, thinners, motor oil, fuel, pool chemicals, pesticides, automotive batteries, propane cylinders, fluorescent tubes, mercury items, asbestos, and medical waste or sharps. It is not that we do not want to — it is illegal for a general hauler to transport it. All of it goes free to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center instead, and we will tell you which one is nearest and what the limits are.

Do you recycle, or does it all go to the dump?

Donate first, recycle second, landfill last. Furniture in usable condition goes to LA-area charities. Metal and appliances go to scrap. Electronics go to certified e-waste handlers because California law requires it. Mattresses go through the state recycling program. Construction debris goes to a City-certified processor. What is genuinely finished goes to a transfer station, and that is the smallest part of most loads.

How is a junk removal job priced?

By the volume it takes up in the truck, not by the hour. A quarter of the truck costs a quarter-truck price whether it takes us twenty minutes or an hour, which is the point — you are not paying for our traffic. Heavy materials like soil, concrete and tile are the exception and are priced by weight. Our pricing page explains the whole structure and where the free alternatives beat paying us.

Do you serve all of Los Angeles?

Greater Los Angeles, roughly everything within an hour of Culver City — the Westside, South Bay, Central LA, the Eastside, the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley and down to Long Beach. Our areas page lists every neighborhood we have a crew in regularly.

Can you take just one item?

Yes, and it is a normal request. Single-item pickups are most of what we do — one couch, one fridge, one mattress. If the item is on the curb and it is a City of LA address, check whether LASAN’s free bulky pickup covers it first. We would rather tell you that than take your money for something the city will do for nothing.
