Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.
Same-day and next-day clearances in Westchester and 90045. We schedule around the airport arterials rather than pretending they are not there.

Nothing free moves today in Westchester: city bulky pickup needs a business day of notice, the S.A.F.E. centers open only at weekends, and the free drop-off event runs one Saturday a month. A hauler is the third route. Same-day junk removal runs Monday to Saturday around the clock, Sunday afternoons, quoted free.
There are exactly three honest ways for junk to leave a Westchester address today, and it is worth knowing which is which before you call anyone. The free option is not one of them: LA Sanitation's bulky item pickup is genuinely free and unlimited for a single-family City of Los Angeles address, but it requires at least one business day of notice and is collected on your regular trash day, so by definition it is not a same-day service. The second is self-haul, and the two free public destinations both have fixed hours — the S.A.F.E. centers open Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for chemicals and e-waste only, and LA Sanitation's free bulky drop-off events run one Saturday a month, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 2027 Stoner Avenue in West Los Angeles as the nearest of the five sites to Westchester. The third is a hauler, which is what we are. Los Angeles Junk Removal & Hauling is open Monday to Saturday around the clock and Sunday 1 to 10 p.m., quotes free upfront, and will tell you on the phone whether today is realistic given where you are relative to the airport rather than taking the booking and arriving at nine at night.
Same-day work in Westchester has one variable that most of Los Angeles does not: the airport is inside the neighborhood. Century, Sepulveda, La Tijera, Manchester and Lincoln are not neighborhood streets that happen to be busy, they are the arterials that feed LAX, and their behavior across a day is predictable enough that a job can be planned around it.
So this page is mostly about time: what is genuinely possible today, what is next-day, and which free option is worth waiting for. The full picture of what we clear locally is on junk removal in Westchester, and the county-wide version is on same-day junk removal.
Take the free curbside route first, because for a lot of Westchester calls it is the right answer and we would rather say so than sell you something. LA Sanitation's bulky item pickup is unlimited and costs nothing. You book it on the online service request form, through MyLA311, or on the 24-hour Customer Care Center at 1-800-773-2489, at least one business day before your normal collection, with an itemized list so the right truck is sent. It takes furniture, mattresses and box springs, toilets and sinks, rolled and tied carpet, large wood and doors, and e-waste including televisions, computers and monitors. If your deadline is next week and the items can reach the curb, that is your answer and it costs nothing.
What it cannot be is today. The notice requirement and the trash-day scheduling are structural, not a queue you can jump. And the refusals matter on a deadline: no automotive parts or used oil, no construction materials, no commercial appliances, no paints, solvents or chemicals, no medicines or needles, no fluorescent lights, no cardboard outside a Move In / Move Out service. A clearance running against an escrow date or a move-out inspection nearly always contains at least one of those.
Second route, self-haul. There are two free public destinations and both are weekend-shaped. The S.A.F.E. centers take the chemical and electronic fraction free from City and County residents, Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., within the California transport limit of 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit; Hyperion at 7660 West Imperial Highway Gate B in Playa del Rey is the nearest to Westchester. Separately, LA Sanitation opens five sites for free bulky drop-off one Saturday a month, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and publishes the dates a year ahead — the 2026 Saturdays are January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 19, October 10, November 21 and December 12. The West LA site at 2027 Stoner Avenue is the closest of the five. If today is one of those Saturdays and you have a truck, that is a real option.
Third route is us, and the honest version of what we offer is this: we are open Monday to Saturday around the clock and Sunday 1 to 10 p.m., we quote free upfront with no obligation, and we tell you on the phone whether the window you want is realistic. A ten-item garage clearance in Kentwood at eleven in the morning is a straightforward same-day job. The same job booked at four in the afternoon on the Century corridor during an airport peak is not, and saying so is more useful to you than a yes that turns into a three-hour slip.

Westchester's 10.81 square miles include all of Los Angeles International Airport, which makes it the only residential neighborhood in the city whose arterial traffic is driven by a global transport hub sitting inside its own boundary. That is not a curiosity, it is a scheduling fact. Century Boulevard, Sepulveda Boulevard, La Tijera Boulevard, Manchester Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard all carry airport traffic through or past residential blocks, and the volume moves on a daily curve that has nothing to do with the neighborhood.
What that means in practice is that a same-day promise in Westchester is really a promise about a route. We plan the approach and the exit before we accept a window, and where a job sits east of Sepulveda we will often come in off La Tijera rather than fight the Century corridor. Where the load has to go to a facility afterwards, the order of the day matters more than the size of the job: hazardous and e-waste runs are scheduled early because their destinations close at three on the two days they open at all.
Inside the neighborhood, the access is comparatively kind. Streets are wide by Los Angeles standards, single-family blocks generally have driveways, and a large share of the original tract has a rear service alley, which gives a second approach when a street is parked out. That is why Westchester same-day jobs tend to run to time once the truck is on the block — the uncertainty is almost entirely in getting there, not in working there.
The exceptions are the apartment corridors along Sepulveda and the commercial belt toward the airport. An apartment job needs to know about the elevator and the loading door before the truck leaves. A commercial address in the airport belt may need a dock slot, a service elevator booking, or a certificate of insurance on file with a property manager, and none of those can be arranged from the curb. If your deadline is real, give us those details when you call and the same-day answer is far more likely to be yes.
One more local pattern worth naming: the university cycle. Loyola Marymount University sits at the northwest edge of the neighborhood, and move-out compresses a large volume of furniture, mattresses and boxed goods into a short window each year. If your deadline falls inside that window, book earlier in the day than you otherwise would. For the garage version of a rushed clearance see garage cleanouts in Westchester.
If it needs to be gone today, say so when you call and we will tell you honestly whether we can.
Free upfront quote, no obligation. One number, agreed before anything is lifted.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The same-day junk removal we run in Westchester looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
The thing that goes wrong with same-day work everywhere is that speed becomes an excuse for taking everything to one place. It should not be, and the law does not care about your deadline. So the routing on a same-day Westchester job is the same routing as on a booked one, decided at your address while the load is going on rather than afterwards.
Reusable goods are pulled first, because that decision has a shelf life of about ninety seconds — once a sound armchair has a broken bookcase on top of it, it is no longer donatable. Metal goes to scrap. Wood and clean rubble go to materials recovery. Mattresses go into the California recycling stream administered by the Mattress Recycling Council under CalRecycle oversight, funded by the recycling fee that was already paid when the mattress was bought.
Electronics come out separately whatever the hurry. California's household exemption for universal waste ended on February 9, 2006, and since then batteries, cell phones, computers, fluorescent lamps, mercury switches and thermostats, printers, microwaves, televisions and monitors have been banned from the trash. That is not a preference we apply when there is time; it is a prohibition. The same goes for the chemical fraction, which travels within the 125 pound or 15 gallon per-visit limit to a S.A.F.E. center, Hyperion being the nearest.
And construction debris stays its own load. If your same-day job is a rushed remodel clearance — cabinets out, tile up, partition down — that material in the City of Los Angeles must be hauled by a permitted private hauler to a City-certified processing facility, with a penalty of up to $5,000 per load taken anywhere else. A hauler who offers to take your remodel debris and your household junk in one undifferentiated load at speed is offering you their compliance problem as well as their truck.

What today really means, the free options and why the airport is part of the answer.
No, and it is worth being blunt about that because it saves people a wasted afternoon. LA Sanitation's bulky item pickup is free and unlimited for a single-family Westchester address, but it needs at least one business day of notice and it happens on your regular trash day. Both of those are structural. If your deadline is a week out, book it on 1-800-773-2489 and pay nothing. If it is today, the free curbside route is not available to you at any price.
It depends what day it is. The S.A.F.E. centers take chemicals, paint, automotive fluids, batteries and e-waste free from City and County residents, but only on Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., within a state limit of 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Hyperion in Playa del Rey is the closest. Separately, LA Sanitation opens five bulky drop-off sites one Saturday a month from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 2027 Stoner Avenue in West LA is the nearest. Outside those hours there is no free public option open.
Usually the same day, and the honest constraint is the airport rather than our schedule. We are open Monday to Saturday around the clock and Sunday from 1 to 10 p.m. What we do before agreeing to a window is look at where you are relative to Century and Sepulveda and what time of day it is, because those arterials carry LAX traffic and a window that works at eleven in the morning is a different proposition at five. If today is not realistic we will say so rather than book it and slip.
Often yes, and the thing that decides it is information rather than volume. Tell us the number of rooms, whether there is a garage, whether anything is going to donation, and whether there is remodel debris in the mix, because that last one travels as a separate compliant load. With that we can commit to a realistic window and a free upfront quote. What we will not do is give you a number over the phone that we know will change when the crew sees the property.
What we price is the work: what there is, how it is reached and where each fraction has to go. Those do not change because the job is today. What can change is whether today is possible at all given the hour and the traffic, and that is a scheduling answer rather than a pricing one. You get a free upfront quote with no obligation before anything is loaded, and it is the same basis whether the job is today or Thursday.
We can take it on the same visit but not in the same load, and that distinction is a legal one. In the City of Los Angeles, mixed construction and demolition debris has to be hauled by a permitted private hauler to a City-certified processing facility, with a penalty of up to $5,000 per load taken anywhere else. So cabinets, tile, plaster and partition material are kept separate from household junk on purpose. Tell us it is in the mix when you book and we bring capacity for both.
Word for word from Google. Nothing tidied.
