Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.
Same-day hauling across West Hollywood, from the 1920s courtyard buildings off Fountain to the towers on Sunset, quoted flat before we start.

West Hollywood residents get free bulky item collection through Athens Services on (888) 336-6100, but it is capped at two items per request and takes about a week, and it excludes e-waste, hazardous material, automotive parts and construction debris. In a city that is over three quarters renters living in dense pre-war apartment buildings, two items and a week is not a clear-out. Los Angeles Junk Removal & Hauling clears whole units, walks it down the courtyard stairs, and quotes one flat volume-based price.
West Hollywood is small, dense and almost entirely apartments. The building stock is 1920s and 1930s courtyard buildings and mid-century blocks, most with no elevator, exterior or central stairs, and street parking that is permit-controlled and enforced properly.
The free program is fine for a single chair. It is not designed for a move-out, a turnover, a renovation, or the fridge and the TV that it will not accept at all. That is our work, and we do a lot of it here. See how our pricing works.
West Hollywood contracts its collection to Athens Services, and bulky item pickup is free for residents on (888) 336-6100. The limits are the issue: a maximum of two items per request, and roughly a week's turnaround. The program excludes e-waste, hazardous material, automotive parts and construction and demolition debris.
So the honest arithmetic is this. If you have a chair and a side table, book it and pay nothing. If you have a sofa, a mattress, a TV and a mini-fridge — a completely ordinary apartment move-out — the TV and the fridge are refused outright and the other two are two separate weekly requests. Meanwhile the item cannot sit in the courtyard or by the bins in the meantime, because that is illegal dumping and the building takes the citation.
Athens collection is also curbside. Nobody is coming up the stairs of a 1929 courtyard building to get your sofa out of a second-floor unit.

The signature West Hollywood building is a 1920s or 1930s courtyard block: two stories around a central garden, exterior stairs to the upper units, a narrow entry passage from the street, and no elevator anywhere. Getting a sofa or a king mattress out means down the stairs, along the courtyard, through the passage and onto the street. We size the crew for that and we protect the stair and the entry.
Mid-century blocks along Fountain, Norton and Havenhurst add subterranean parking too low for a truck, so loads come up and out to a vehicle on the street. Along Sunset and toward the design district there are newer towers with docks, freight elevators and management companies that need a certificate of insurance on file before a crew comes in. We send that ahead.
Parking is the daily constraint. West Hollywood is almost entirely permit-controlled with active enforcement and very narrow residential streets. We plan the truck position, work the load quickly, and clear out rather than occupying a space for an afternoon.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in West Hollywood looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
Donation first for usable furniture, and there is a lot of it in this market. Mattresses go into California's state-funded mattress recycling program rather than a landfill. Electronics are universal waste under California law and are explicitly excluded from the city's program, so TVs, monitors, computers and microwaves go to a certified handler or a S.A.F.E. Collection Center. West Hollywood's nearest S.A.F.E. options are the UCLA center in Westwood, open Fridays, Saturdays and the first Sunday of each month, and the LA-Glendale center at 4600 Colorado Blvd, which is Saturday only and requires a state photo ID at the security gate because it sits inside a water reclamation plant. Both free, both capped at 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Renovation debris goes to a certified mixed C&D processor.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Mid-Wilshire, Silver Lake, Mid-City. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.
Courtyard-building move-outs, whole-unit turnovers and everything Athens refuses.
Couches, sectionals, mattresses in the same trip, beds, desks and wardrobes carried down rather than dragged.
Recycled through a state-funded program, not dumped. Box springs and futons too.
TVs, CRT monitors and computers. Banned from the trash in California.
Fridges, washers and AC units. Refrigerant units are handled as universal waste.
Booked and cleared the same day, most days, across LA County.
COIs, after-hours dock slots and property-manager invoicing.
The two-item cap is the recurring problem.
Two per request, through Athens Services on (888) 336-6100, with about a week's turnaround. E-waste, hazardous material, automotive parts and construction debris are excluded entirely.
No. E-waste is excluded from the city's program. Electronics are also universal waste under California law and cannot go in the trash. We route them to a certified handler. See e-waste disposal.
Yes, that is the standard West Hollywood job. We break down what needs breaking down, protect the stair and the entry passage, and carry out to the street. The carry is priced into the flat quote.
Don't. Without a confirmed collection that is illegal dumping and the building gets cited, not you. We remove it the same day in most cases.
Yes. Turnovers, abandoned units and building clear-outs, invoiced to the management company, with a certificate of insurance provided where the building requires one. See commercial junk removal.
Word for word from Google. Nothing tidied.
