Same-day hauling across Hollywood, from the bungalows up the hills off Beachwood to the apartment blocks south of Santa Monica Boulevard, quoted flat before we start.

Hollywood is in the City of Los Angeles, so LA Sanitation collects bulky items free and with no annual cap from a Hollywood curb on your trash day, requested through MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489. Hollywood's real hauling problems sit outside that: hillside houses reached by public stairways rather than driveways, dense apartment blocks with no elevators, and production and studio clear-outs that generate sets, props and fixtures on a deadline. We handle all three, insured, at one flat volume-based price.
Hollywood is three neighborhoods in one. Up the hills off Beachwood, Bronson and Gower the houses are 1920s bungalows on stepped lots, some reached only by a public stairway, with no driveway and no turnaround. Down on the flats it is dense apartment blocks and courtyard buildings with exterior stairs and rear alleys. And through the middle runs the industry: production offices, post houses, small stages and studio-adjacent businesses that clear out fast between projects.
All three need labor rather than a collection truck. We bring the crew, work to the deadline, and quote one flat number before we start. See how our pricing works.
LA Sanitation's bulky item pickup is free and unlimited for single-family residents, booked on MyLA311, online, or on the 24-hour line at 1-800-773-2489, and collected on your regular trash day with at least one business day's notice. It accepts furniture, mattresses and box springs, toilets and sinks, rolled and tied carpet, doors, large wood pieces and e-waste including TVs, computers and monitors. It refuses automotive parts and used oil, construction materials, commercial appliances, paint, solvents and chemicals, medicines and needles, and fluorescent tubes.
Two Hollywood-specific gaps. On the hillside streets there is frequently nowhere to stage items that a collection truck can safely stop at — single-lane roads, no shoulder, blind bends, and houses reached by a stairway from the street below. On the flats the apartment buildings use shared enclosures, so the request has to come from the property manager and the collection is still curbside.
Also worth knowing: none of it applies to a business. Production offices, stages and post houses are commercial waste generators and cannot use the residential program at all.

The Hollywood hills above Franklin were subdivided in the 1920s, and some houses are reached by one of the neighborhood's public stairways rather than a driveway. When that is the case, every item is carried down a flight of concrete steps to a truck parked on the street below. Other streets are single-lane with a blind bend and no turnaround, so we send a vehicle that fits and shuttle rather than blocking the road.
On the flats, the courtyard buildings and 1960s blocks south of Hollywood Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard have exterior stairs, narrow entries, no elevators and rear alleys with bins. Permit parking districts cover most of it and enforcement is active, particularly near the tourist corridor where loading is genuinely difficult during the day.
Production work is its own category. Sets, flats, props, cable, furniture and fixtures, usually on a hard wrap deadline, often after hours, and usually needing a certificate of insurance for the building or lot. We schedule around the wrap rather than the working day.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in Hollywood looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
Donation and resale first, and production clear-outs generate a lot of genuinely reusable material. Scrap metal and steel go to a recycler. Mattresses go into California's state-funded recycling program. Electronics are universal waste in California and go to a certified handler. Household hazardous material goes to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center; Hollywood's nearest are the LA-Glendale center at 4600 Colorado Blvd, Saturday only with a state photo ID required at the gate, and the Washington Blvd center, open both weekend days 9 to 3. Both free, both capped at 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Set and build-out debris counts as construction and demolition waste and goes to a City-certified mixed C&D processing facility; American Reclamation, certified at an audited 80.75%, is one of the closest to Hollywood.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: West Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Koreatown, North Hollywood. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.

Hills, apartments and wrap deadlines.
Yes. Everything gets hand-carried down the steps to a truck on the street below. That carry is the bulk of the labor, so we look at it before quoting and give you one flat number that includes it.
No. The LA Sanitation program is residential only. Businesses are commercial waste generators and have to use a private hauler, which is most of our commercial Hollywood work. See commercial junk removal.
Yes, and that is usually when this work happens. Tell us the window and whether the building or lot needs a certificate of insurance and we will schedule inside it.
They count as construction and demolition waste, so they must be hauled by a permitted hauler to a City-certified processing facility. American Reclamation, at an audited 80.75%, is one of the closest to Hollywood. See construction debris removal.
We size the vehicle to the street rather than the load, and shuttle if there is no turnaround. That decision is made on the walk-through so the price does not change on the day.
Word for word from Google. Nothing tidied.
