Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.

Valley Village is a City of Los Angeles neighborhood, so LA Sanitation's bulky item collection applies: free, unlimited, curbside, booked through MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489 for your normal collection day. Valley Village is small, dense and heavily treed, and that is where it strains. The parkways are narrow strips under a mature canopy, street parking is tight, and one item left out on a Valley Village block tends to become four by the weekend as neighbors add to it. Los Angeles Junk Removal & Hauling takes it from the door on the day instead, at one flat volume-based price.
Valley Village is a small neighborhood with a tight grid, wedged between North Hollywood, Studio City and the 170. The housing is a mix that produces steady work: original single-story homes on modest lots, a lot of 1940s and 1950s duplexes, and small apartment courts along the bigger streets. Almost none of it has a long driveway or a wide frontage.
Because so much of it is duplex and small-block rental, the job here is usually a turnover: one unit emptied between tenants, or a small building tidied after several. See furniture removal, mattress removal and how our pricing works.
The city service is worth using in Valley Village when the timing suits you. LA Sanitation calls bulky item collection an unlimited curbside service at no additional charge. Request it on the online form, in the MyLA311 app, or on the 24-hour Customer Care line at 1-800-773-2489, itemise what is going out so a correctly sized truck is dispatched, and set it out for your regular collection day, requested at least one business day ahead. Furniture, mattresses and box springs, rolled and tied carpet, toilets, sinks, doors, large wood and e-waste are all accepted.
The strain in Valley Village is space and time. The parkway strips are narrow and root-heaved under an old canopy, the frontages are short, and cars park bumper to bumper on both sides. An item staged there blocks the sidewalk, and it sits until your collection day comes round, which on a turnover you rarely have. Once it is out, other people add to it, and what started as one mattress becomes a pile the property owner is answerable for.
The exclusions still apply as everywhere in the city: no construction materials, concrete, brick or dirt, no paint, solvents or chemicals, no automotive parts or used oil, no commercial appliances, no fluorescent tubes. Cardboard is only collected on a scheduled Move In / Move Out service, which is exactly what a Valley Village turnover generates.

Valley Village streets are narrow and lined with mature trees, and the canopy that makes them pleasant also means low branches and lifted sidewalk. We bring a vehicle that fits the street rather than the largest one available, park tight, and carry rather than stage on the sidewalk, because a pile on a Valley Village frontage is in everybody's way within minutes.
Duplexes here are typically two units sharing a drive with a detached garage at the rear, sometimes converted. That garage is usually where a turnover job actually lives: an old fridge, a washer, a bed frame, boxes and paint cans left by three tenants ago. Small apartment courts add stairs, shared landings and a bin enclosure that is not a legal place to leave anything bulky.
Green waste is a real category in Valley Village because of the trees. Limbs, hedge cuttings and leaf fall are dense and bulky at once, and the green bin runs out long before the pile does. See garage cleanouts, appliance removal and yard waste removal.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in Valley Village looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
We sort before loading, and on a turnover a lot of it is still usable: furniture, kitchenware, working appliances and small electricals go to donation. Metal and dead appliances go to a recycler. Tree limbs and hedge cuttings are composted rather than buried. Mattresses enter California's state-funded recycling program, run by the Mattress Recycling Council under CalRecycle oversight, with LA County alone holding close to twenty permanent no-cost collection centers. Electronics are universal waste in California and go to a certified handler rather than a bin. Paint goes free to any PaintCare drop-off. Solvents, batteries, aerosols and motor oil left in a garage go to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center, and Valley Village's nearest is Randall Street, 11025 Randall St, Sun Valley, weekends 9 to 3, free, capped by California at 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Any demolition debris from a garage conversion is mixed construction and demolition waste and must be delivered to a City-certified processing facility.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: North Hollywood, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Burbank. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.
Duplex turnovers, rear garages, appliances and tree work.
Couches, sectionals, mattresses in the same trip, beds, desks and wardrobes carried down rather than dragged.
Recycled through a state-funded program, not dumped. Box springs and futons too.
Fridges, washers and AC units. Refrigerant units are handled as universal waste.
The whole garage in one visit. We sort, donate what is usable and sweep the slab.
Brush, palm fronds, sod, soil and storm debris, priced by weight.
Booked and cleared the same day, most days, across LA County.
Duplexes, narrow streets and turnovers, mostly.
That is the usual Valley Village situation. If you can clear a stretch of parkway and you can wait for your collection day, book the free city pickup through MyLA311. If you cannot, we take it from inside on the day and nothing sits on the sidewalk. See furniture removal.
Yes, and it is cheaper than two visits. We quote the whole thing on one walk-through, including the rear garage, and give you a single flat volume-based number before we start. See how our pricing works.
No. The city program is curbside, so anything bulky in a shared enclosure is outside it and reads as dumping. It also tends to attract more, which is how a single mattress becomes a pile the owner has to clear.
Yes. Valley Village has a heavy canopy and the green bin fills long before the pile does. Cuttings and limbs are dense, so they are priced by weight rather than by how tall the pile looks, and they go to composting rather than landfill. See yard waste removal.
Yes. Shared drives and rear garages are standard here. We bring a vehicle sized for the street, work down the drive and take the appliance to a recycler. Tell us if the garage has been converted, because that changes what is inside it. See appliance removal.
Word for word from Google. Nothing tidied.
