Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.
Same-day hauling across Studio City, from the flats south of Ventura to the switchbacks climbing toward Mulholland, quoted flat before we start.

Studio City is inside the City of Los Angeles, so LA Sanitation's bulky item collection is free, unlimited and bookable through MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489. Two things break it in Studio City. The first is geography: half the neighborhood sits on hillside streets with no parkway, no turnaround and a house stepped below the road, so there is nowhere to stage a curbside pickup. The second is the refusal list: LASAN takes no construction materials, no concrete, brick or dirt, and Studio City is a remodel market. Los Angeles Junk Removal & Hauling handles both, at one flat volume-based price agreed before we start.
Studio City splits cleanly in two. South of Ventura Boulevard the land climbs into the hills below Mulholland: single-lane roads, blind switchbacks, hillside houses with the front door below street level and a long run of stairs to reach it. North of the boulevard the grid flattens into post-war ranch homes and small apartment blocks toward Moorpark and Riverside.
The hillside half is where the difficult work is. Remodels, deck rebuilds, retaining wall repairs and brush clearance, all on streets where the truck that fits is not the truck you would normally send. See construction debris removal, yard waste removal and how our pricing works.
If you are in the Studio City flats with a normal frontage, use the city service. LA Sanitation describes bulky item collection as an unlimited curbside service at no additional charge. Request it online, in the MyLA311 app, or on the 24-hour Customer Care line at 1-800-773-2489, itemise what you are putting out so a correctly sized truck is dispatched, and set it out for your regular collection day with at least one business day of notice. Furniture, mattresses and box springs, rolled and tied carpet, toilets, sinks, doors, large wood and e-waste all qualify.
Up the hill it stops working. Collection is curbside and many Studio City hillside streets have no curb at all, just a road edge and a drop. Where there is a parkway it is often a retaining wall. Leaving a load on a single-lane switchback is a hazard, not a pickup, and a house stepped forty steps below the road means somebody still has to carry everything up.
Then there is the refusal list, which reads like a Studio City remodel inventory. No construction materials, no concrete, brick or dirt, no paint, solvents or chemicals, no automotive parts or used oil, no fluorescent tubes, no commercial appliances. Broken deck boards, stucco, tile, old fencing and hillside soil are all outside the program, and the City has its own rules about where that material has to go.

On the Studio City hillside the street decides the job. Roads narrow to one lane with parked cars on one side, there is frequently no turnaround at the top, and the house sits either well above or well below the road on a flight of exterior stairs. We size the vehicle to the street rather than the load, park where we are not blocking a through route, and shuttle down and back rather than trying to reverse a long truck out of a switchback. That gets decided on the walk-through, which is why the flat number does not move on the day.
Remodel debris is the bulk of the hillside work. Deck boards and joists, stucco and lath, tile, cabinets, old windows, fencing and retaining-wall spoil. It is dense, so weight rather than volume sets what a truck can legally carry in one trip, and mixed demolition waste is regulated in the City of Los Angeles rather than simply dumped.
Brush is the other one. Studio City has large areas mapped in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, where the LA Fire Department requires vegetation clearance and, critically, requires that the cut material be removed from the property rather than piled at the edge of it. Hillside cuttings, ivy, oleander and eucalyptus limbs are heavy and bulky at once, and there is no city bulky route for them. Flats work is more ordinary: garages, ranch-house cleanouts and appliance swaps. See garage cleanouts.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in Studio City looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
Sorting happens before loading. Usable cabinets, doors, fixtures and furniture go to donation or reuse. Metal and appliances go to a recycler. Green waste is composted rather than buried. Mattresses go into California's state-funded recycling program. Electronics are universal waste in California and go to a certified handler. Leftover paint from a remodel goes free to any PaintCare drop-off, of which California has more than 800. Solvents, thinners, pool chemicals and motor oil go to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center, and Studio City sits between two: Randall Street, 11025 Randall St, Sun Valley, and LA-Glendale at 4600 Colorado Blvd, which is Saturday only and requires a state photo ID at the security gate because it sits inside a water reclamation plant. Both are free and capped by California at 125 pounds or 15 gallons a visit. Mixed construction and demolition debris must be hauled by a permitted hauler to a City-certified processing facility, with a penalty of up to $5,000 per load taken anywhere else; East Valley Diversion is audited at 78.20% and Crown Recycling in Sun Valley at 81.28%.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: Valley Village, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Hollywood, Burbank. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.
Remodel debris, decks, hillside brush, garages and ranch-house cleanouts.
Drywall, lumber, tile and concrete, hauled to a certified C&D processor.
Brush, palm fronds, sod, soil and storm debris, priced by weight.
The whole garage in one visit. We sort, donate what is usable and sweep the slab.
Drained, cut down in sections and carried out through the side gate.
Couches, sectionals, mattresses in the same trip, beds, desks and wardrobes carried down rather than dragged.
Fridges, washers and AC units. Refrigerant units are handled as universal waste.
Hillsides, remodels and fire clearance, mostly.
No. Construction materials, concrete, brick and dirt are all on LA Sanitation's prohibited list. Mixed demolition debris in the City of Los Angeles has to be hauled by a permitted hauler to a certified processing facility. We are set up for that. See construction debris removal.
Yes, that is normal Studio City work. We choose a truck that fits the street rather than the biggest one available, park where we will not block a through route, and shuttle. The access gets sorted on the walk-through so the flat number does not change on the day.
Yes, and it needs hauling rather than piling. Clearance requirements say the cut material has to be removed from the property, and there is no city bulky pickup for green waste. Hillside cuttings are priced by weight because they are dense. See yard waste removal.
Paint goes free to any PaintCare drop-off site, and California has more than 800 of them. Thinners and solvents go to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center. The nearest to Studio City are Randall Street in Sun Valley, weekends 9 to 3, and LA-Glendale on Colorado Boulevard, Saturday only with a photo ID needed at the gate.
It changes the crew and the time, and both are folded into the quote you get before we start. What it does not do is change the number afterwards. We walk the access first, then give you one flat volume-based figure. See how our pricing works.
