Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.

Hawthorne properties on trash carts get four free special pickups per year through Republic Services, each covering 64 cubic feet of material, booked on (888) 742-5234 with one calendar day's notice, in groups of no more than five items. Nothing that two workers cannot handle will be accepted. Beyond those four visits, or for anything two people cannot lift, or anything indoors, Los Angeles Junk Removal & Hauling clears it at one flat volume-based price.
Hawthorne's program is worth understanding because it is measured in volume rather than items: 64 cubic feet per pickup, four times a year. That is roughly a small trailer load each time, which is genuinely useful if you plan it.
The catch is the two-worker rule. Anything a pair of collection crew cannot handle is refused, which rules out a hot tub, a shed, a slate pool table, a safe, a heavy sectional and most appliances that need to come from inside. That is exactly the boundary where we start. See how our pricing works.
Republic Services collects for Hawthorne. Properties using trash carts get four free special pickups per year, each covering 64 cubic feet of material. Requests go to Republic on (888) 742-5234 with one calendar day's notice, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and the city asks that items be grouped in a maximum of five at a time. The hard rule is stated plainly: no single item that cannot be handled by two workers will be accepted.
Use it for household bulk you can stage at the curb. Do not plan around it for anything heavy or awkward, because the two-worker rule is not negotiable and a refused item left at the curb becomes an illegal dumping problem for the property. Hawthorne is also a heavy multi-family city, and the free program is written for cart customers, so buildings on dumpster service are outside it entirely.

Hawthorne is denser than its neighbors. Long runs of 1950s and 1960s fourplexes and small apartment blocks with rear alleys and open carports, interspersed with single-family tracts in Holly Glen, Ramona and Bodger Park. The apartment jobs are the same shape as they are in Palms: exterior stairs, no elevator, load out to the alley or the carport, and a landlord rather than a tenant on the phone.
The tract-house jobs are garages and back yards, usually with a driveway a truck can use. North Hawthorne, up against the airport and the industrial belt, adds commercial work: small shops, storage, light manufacturing and offices.
Parking on the alley-served streets is tight and the alleys are single lane with bins. We stage carefully, work quickly, and clear the space rather than leaving a lane blocked. Where we can use a carport we do, because it halves the carry.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in Hawthorne looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
Usable furniture and appliances go to donation or resale. Scrap metal is recycled. Mattresses go into California's state-funded recycling program rather than a landfill. Electronics are universal waste in California and cannot go in a dumpster, so they are routed to a certified handler. Paint goes through PaintCare's free California drop-off network, and automotive fluids, solvents and chemicals go to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center, with Hyperion in Playa del Rey the nearest, weekends 9 to 3, free to LA County residents, capped at 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Construction debris goes to a certified mixed C&D processor; California Waste Services in Gardena is minutes away and runs an audited 82.13% recycling rate.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: Inglewood, Gardena, El Segundo, Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Westchester. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.
Fourplex turnovers, garages, and everything two workers can't lift.
Couches, sectionals, mattresses in the same trip, beds, desks and wardrobes carried down rather than dragged.
Fridges, washers and AC units. Refrigerant units are handled as universal waste.
The whole garage in one visit. We sort, donate what is usable and sweep the slab.
Drained, cut down in sections and carried out through the side gate.
COIs, after-hours dock slots and property-manager invoicing.
Booked and cleared the same day, most days, across LA County.
The two-worker rule catches most people out.

Hawthorne's program refuses any single item that cannot be handled by two workers. In practice that excludes hot tubs, sheds, safes, slate pool tables, large sectionals and most appliances that have to come from inside. Those are the jobs we take.
Only if the property is on trash carts. Buildings on commercial dumpster service are outside the residential bulky program, which is why we do so much fourplex and small-apartment work here.
Yes, regularly, invoiced to the owner or management company rather than the tenant. Same-day is usually possible. See commercial junk removal.
Yes. Refrigerant appliances are universal waste and need proper handling, and they are usually beyond the two-worker limit anyway. See appliance removal.
