Working with Hunter and this company was great. Gave us a quick quote over the phone after sending photos and was able to help us the SAME day. Removal was fast and easy. We definitely recommend going with this company.
Hand-carry hauling in Venice, from the walk streets and canal footbridges to the duplexes off Abbot Kinney, quoted flat before we start.

Venice is part of the City of Los Angeles, so LA Sanitation will collect bulky items from Venice addresses free and with no annual limit, on your regular trash day, booked at least one business day ahead through MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489. The catch in Venice specifically is the word curbside. Large parts of Venice have no curb a truck can reach: the walk streets, the canal footpaths and the alley-fed cottages. That is where a crew that carries by hand matters more than a free program.
We work Venice on foot as much as by truck. A load coming out of a canal house crosses a footbridge. A load off a walk street gets walked to the nearest cross street. A load from a 1920s beach bungalow comes out through a side gate two feet wide. None of that is unusual here and none of it should surprise you on the invoice, which is why we quote the whole job flat after we look at the access, not by the hour.
Venice is also a heavy turnover market: short-term rentals, creative studios, and constant remodels behind original facades. That means furniture removal, construction debris and full estate cleanouts in roughly equal measure.
LA Sanitation describes its bulky item pickup as unlimited curbside service at no additional charge. There is no per-year cap and no per-item fee for single-family residents. You request it online, through the MyLA311 app, or on the 24-hour line at 1-800-773-2489, and they ask for an itemised list so the right truck is dispatched. Collection happens on your normal trash day, so request at least one business day ahead.
They will take furniture, mattresses and box springs, toilets and sinks, rolled and tied carpet, large wood pieces and doors, and e-waste including TVs and monitors. They will not take automotive parts or used oil, construction materials like concrete, brick or dirt, commercial appliances, paint, solvents or chemicals, medicines or needles, or fluorescent tubes. And they will not come inside, up a stair, down a walk street or across a canal bridge to get any of it.

The Venice canals and the walk streets were laid out before trucks, and nothing about them has changed to accommodate one. A haul off a walk street is a series of carries to the nearest vehicle-accessible cross street. On the canals it is a carry over a pedestrian bridge with no vehicle access at all. We plan for that, bring enough hands, and price it as one number rather than watching a clock run.
The rest of Venice is dense duplexes, courts and converted garages on 30-foot lots, most of them fed from a rear alley rather than the street. If the alley is clear we work from there and the job is quicker. If it is blocked, or the building is a 1920s bungalow court with a shared central path, everything comes out the front on foot.
Two other Venice specifics. Original bungalows often have crawl spaces and detached garages stacked to the rafters, which is where the real volume hides. And beachside units accumulate corroded metal, boards and salt-ruined outdoor furniture that a donation center will not take, so it has to be sorted rather than dropped.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in Venice looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
Donation first for anything usable, and Venice generates a lot of it. Mattresses go into California's state-funded recycling program rather than a landfill. Electronics are universal waste under California law, banned from the trash since the state's exemption ended in February 2006, so TVs, CRT monitors, printers and microwaves are routed to a certified handler. Household hazardous material goes to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center, and Venice's nearest is Hyperion at 7660 W Imperial Hwy Gate B, Playa del Rey, weekends 9 to 3, subject to the state's 125-pound or 15-gallon per-visit limit. Remodel debris goes to a City-certified mixed C&D processor, which the City of LA's recycling ordinance requires for any C&D waste generated in the city.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Mar Vista, Playa del Rey, Culver City, Westchester. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.
Bungalow garages, rental turnovers and remodel debris, in that order.
Couches, sectionals, mattresses in the same trip, beds, desks and wardrobes carried down rather than dragged.
Recycled through a state-funded program, not dumped. Box springs and futons too.
The whole garage in one visit. We sort, donate what is usable and sweep the slab.
Drywall, lumber, tile and concrete, hauled to a certified C&D processor.
A full property cleared with care, on probate or move-out timelines.
Booked and cleared the same day, most days, across LA County.
What people ask us before a Venice haul.
Yes. Venice is in the City of Los Angeles, and LASAN's bulky item pickup is free, unlimited and booked through MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489 at least one business day ahead. It is collected on your regular trash day and it is curbside only.
Then there is no curb a city truck can reach, and the free program effectively does not apply to you. We hand-carry the load out to the nearest vehicle-accessible street or across the footbridge, and we quote the carry as part of the flat price.
Yes. Construction and demolition debris is on LASAN's prohibited list, so it cannot go to the curb. We haul it to a City-certified mixed C&D processing facility as the LA recycling ordinance requires. See construction debris removal.
Regularly. We clear units between tenants, strip out abandoned furniture, and can invoice a management company directly. Same-day is usually possible. See commercial junk removal.
By volume plus access, quoted as one flat number on site before we touch anything. A long walk-street carry costs more than a driveway load and we tell you that upfront rather than adding it later. See how our pricing works.
