Woodland Hills is part of the City of Los Angeles, so LA Sanitation's curbside bulky item collection is free, unlimited and booked through MyLA311 or 1-800-773-2489. The two biggest hauling jobs in Woodland Hills fall straight through that program. Brush cut for fire clearance is green waste, which has no bulky pickup route at all and has to be removed from the property. And Warner Center is commercial, which the residential program does not cover in any form. Los Angeles Junk Removal & Hauling handles both, at one flat volume-based price agreed before we start.
Woodland Hills is the far west end of the San Fernando Valley and it runs hot, both literally and in terms of what it produces. It is one of the hottest places in Los Angeles County most summers, and large parts of it sit against open hillside in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. The lots are big, many with pools, workshops and long driveways, and the planting is mature.
Then, in the middle of it, Warner Center: a dense commercial core of office towers, medical suites and newer high-rise residential, on a completely different rhythm from the houses around it. See yard waste removal, commercial junk removal and how our pricing works.
Use the city service for what it is good at. LA Sanitation calls bulky item collection an unlimited curbside service at no additional charge. Book it on the online request form, in the MyLA311 app, or on the 24-hour Customer Care line at 1-800-773-2489, itemise what is going out so a correctly sized truck is dispatched, and set it out for your regular collection day with at least one business day of notice. Furniture, mattresses and box springs, rolled and tied carpet, toilets, sinks, doors, large wood and e-waste including televisions and monitors are all accepted, and for a single-family Woodland Hills address that genuinely works.
What it does not do is the Woodland Hills-specific work. Green waste is not a bulky item, so brush, palm fronds, limbs and hedge cuttings have no curbside bulky route. Fire clearance requirements are about removing the cut material from the property, and a green bin holds a fraction of what a hillside cut produces. Construction materials, concrete, brick and dirt are refused, which rules out retaining wall and hardscape work. Paint, solvents, pool chemicals and used oil are refused, which is most of what sits in a Woodland Hills garage and pool cabinet.
And business-generated waste is outside the program entirely, so nothing in Warner Center is covered: not an office refit, not a medical suite clearance, not a retail unit handed back.

Brush clearance is our defining Woodland Hills job. Properties backing onto open hillside have to be cut back, and the cuttings then have to leave the site rather than sit at the boundary as fuel. Chaparral, oleander, eucalyptus and palm are dense and awkward at the same time, so they are priced by weight rather than by how big the pile looks. Timing matters as much as volume: clearance work concentrates in late spring and early summer, and it is far easier to book a haul before the whole neighborhood is cutting at once.
The residential lots are large, which changes the shape of everything else. Long driveways, detached workshops, pools with equipment cabinets full of acid and chlorine, and side yards that gate. Spas, sheds and patio covers come apart in place and leave in sections; where there is no side route we lift over the wall. In the hills the streets narrow and switchback, so we size the truck to the road and shuttle rather than block it.
Warner Center is a different discipline entirely. Towers with loading docks, freight elevator bookings, certificates of insurance for building management and after-hours windows. Office furniture, workstations, server and IT gear, medical suite fit-outs and retail fixtures all come out on a schedule the building sets. See e-waste disposal and hot tub removal.

Our own crews on Los Angeles County jobs. The junk removal we run in Woodland Hills looks like this too: side yards, narrow walkways and the back of the property is where the work actually is.
Green waste goes to composting rather than landfill, which matters when brush is the bulk of the load. Usable furniture, tools and garden equipment go to donation. Scrap metal, including dead pool heaters and pumps, goes to a recycler. Mattresses go into California's state-funded recycling program. Electronics have been universal waste in California since the state exemption ended in February 2006, so monitors, televisions and IT gear go to a certified handler. Paint goes free to any PaintCare drop-off. Pool chemicals, solvents, pesticides and motor oil go to a S.A.F.E. Collection Center, and Woodland Hills is nearest to the Nicole Bernson center at 10241 N Balboa Blvd, Northridge, open Saturdays and Sundays 9 to 3, free, with no business waste accepted and a California limit of 125 pounds or 15 gallons per visit. Hardscape and remodel debris is mixed construction and demolition waste, which the City requires be hauled by a permitted hauler to a certified processing facility; America's Recycling Company 3 in Sun Valley runs an audited 83.98% mixed-C&D recycling rate and is one of the nearest certified processors to the west Valley.

We are on these streets constantly because we are already next door: Tarzana, Encino, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks. If your job straddles two of them it is still one visit and one number. The full list is on areas we serve.

We are a service-area business with no yard or storefront, so there is nothing to drive to — the truck comes to you. The whole list is on areas we serve.
Brush and green waste, big garages, spas, sheds and Warner Center offices.
Brush, palm fronds, sod, soil and storm debris, priced by weight.
COIs, after-hours dock slots and property-manager invoicing.
The whole garage in one visit. We sort, donate what is usable and sweep the slab.
Drained, cut down in sections and carried out through the side gate.
Sheds, playhouses and patio covers dismantled in sequence, slab optional.
A full property cleared with care, on probate or move-out timelines.
Brush, big lots and Warner Center, mostly.
No. Green waste is not a bulky item, so there is no curbside bulky pickup for it, and the green bin holds a fraction of what a hillside cut produces. Clearance rules also require the cut material to leave the property. We haul it and route it to composting. See yard waste removal.
Before everyone else does. Clearance work concentrates in late spring and early summer, so the earlier in that window you book, the easier the scheduling. Cuttings are priced by weight because chaparral, palm and eucalyptus are dense.
No. The residential bulky program does not cover business-generated waste in any form. We work to the building's rules instead: dock booking, freight elevator, certificate of insurance sent to management ahead, and after-hours windows if that is what the lease requires. See commercial junk removal.
Never the bin and never the curb. Acid, chlorine and stabiliser are household hazardous waste. The Nicole Bernson S.A.F.E. Center on North Balboa in Northridge is closest to Woodland Hills, weekends 9 to 3, free, capped at 125 pounds or 15 gallons a visit. If we are clearing the pool area we separate and route them for you.
Yes. We drain it, cut the shell into panels and carry it out in sections, and where there is genuinely no route through we lift over the wall. Tell us the gate width when you call so the crew arrives with the right kit. See hot tub removal.
